We're honored to have been chosen to provide coverage of the 2010 Grand Lake Health System "Road to Fitness" Challenge events. We'll be following the progress of the participants and will be posting photos of each event. Good luck to everyone embarking on their own personal "Road to Fitness"!

Valentine 5K Run/Walk

Valentine's 5K Walk/Run, sponsored by the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce was held on February 13, from 9:00am – 12:00pm. It was a brisk 17 degrees that morning, but that didn't deter the hearty participants from braving the snow covered course. This event is part of Grand Lake Health System's "A Road to Fitness Challenge", with numerous events being held throughout the year to promote good health and fitness. Registration was at the St. Marys Community Library Community Room Participants were encouraged to walk. run or hike along the beautiful Miami Erie Corridor heading north from Spring Street in St. Marys. Refreshments were available for all participants, and this photographer was very grateful for the hot coffee!

Lockkeeper’s Winter Canal Hike

Photos by Karen Seibert - Grand Lake Paparrazi click here to view/order prints The Lockkeeper’s Winter Canal Hike on the Miami and Erie Canal Towpath Trail between the Kuenning – Dicke Park at Lock Two and Minster was held on Saturday, January 9, 2010. In spite of the extreme cold, the event had great attendance, and hot refreshments were made available at the Crown Pavilion in New Bremen.   The Hike was sponsored by the New Bremen – New Knoxville Rotary Club, the Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce, Heritage Trails Park District, Grand Lake Health System and the Miami and Erie Canal Corridor Association (MECCA).
