New Knoxville Independence Day Events Scheduled
The biggest celebration of Independence Day in the area is once again in New Knoxville on July
3 and 4. The event is focused at the New Knoxville Community Park at the south edge of town on State Route 29.
The celebration gets under way on Tuesday, July 3, at 6:00 pm with softball and bean bag tournaments. Entertainment for the evening begins at 8:30 pm with “Big Worms Night Crawlers” on stage until 11:30 pm.
A full day of activity is set for Wednesday, July 4, beginning with volleyball at 8:15 am and continuing
with kids’ games and rides, junior bean bag, hot shot and free throw contests. The Little League games between
New Knoxville and New Bremen begin at 6:00 pm on the ball fields. Food concessions open at 10:00 am, and include homemade
ice cream, a cake wheel, and pie contest. Delicious chicken dinners will be on sale from 4 - 7 pm.
Entertainment for the day includes The Way International Prevailing Word Chorus Choir under the direction of Ted Phillips at 5:00 pm. The evening entertainment begins at 7:00 featuring “The Down Boys” on stage, and the Fabulous Fourth Fireworks begin at 10:00. Admission and all entertainment are free and open to the public. A cash prize ($1000) raffle and a park prize raffle will be drawn after the fireworks, with proceeds going toward continued Community Park improvements. The New Knoxville Independence Day is truly an All-American celebration, with something for every member of the family. Come and enjoy the warm fellowship of a friendly community, and experience the best fireworks display in the area.
