New Lake Brochure Promotes the Grand of Grand Lake St. Marys

Click here for 2008 Grand Lake Brochure

Just in time for boat show season, The Auglaize and Mercer Counties Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has produced a new brochure exclusively promoting Grand Lake St. Marys.  CVB Board President Larry Stelzer said that there have been too many negative things written about the lake in the past few months, some of them totally untrue.  A new CVB Committee has decided that too often we overlook the many, great amenities on the lake that really sets it apart from other lakes.  This committee created the brochure and came up with other ideas to promote the lake at the travel shows.

The new brochure highlights the outdoor recreation, boating and lodging opportunities on the lake, as well as lake events planned for 2008. The new brochure will also be made available to local marinas, bait shops, realtors, and any other businesses that wish to promote the many positives of Grand Lake St. Marys.

In addition to the brochure, a new large lake map highlighting all of these amenities will be on display for potential visitors at the Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Cleveland Boat and Travel Shows.  The CVB will also have a Grand Lake St. Marys give-away where visitors at our booth can sign up for a free, get away, mini vacation on the lake. The giveaway was made possible by donations from the St. Marys and Celina Chambers of Commerce, Niekamp’s Farm and Flea Market, the Armstrong Museum, Fort Recovery Museum, the Bicycle Museum of America and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks.

The CVB is not saying there isn’t improvements that need to be made, we just do not want to lose sight of the many things that we feel make our area a great place to visit. The CVB has just wrapped up the Cincinnati show and the reaction to the new lake promotion was very positive. We distributed hundreds of the new brochures and the interest in the map was great.
